Hope Pendleton will be presenting “Breaking Barriers: Addressing Bias and Advancing Women in the Legal Profession” at the 2025 State Bar of New Mexico Annual Meeting

Serpe Andrews’ Associate, Hope Pendleton, will be presenting “Breaking Barriers: Addressing Bias and Advancing Women in the Legal Profession” at the 2025 State Bar of New Mexico Annual Meeting.

Hope is a civil defense attorney with Serpe Andrews, where she focuses her practice on medical malpractice, governmental risk defense, and employment law. She has represented clients in New Mexico state courts, the U.S. District Court of New Mexico, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In addition to her litigation practice, Hope serves as President of the firm’s Diversity Committee, where she leads initiatives to promote a fair and respectful workplace with equal opportunities for all. She is also the President of the New Mexico Black Lawyers Association, which provides education, advocacy, and support for legal professionals and works to protect civil rights through the legal system.

Raised in the Midwest, Hope brings a unique background in social services, human resources, and domestic violence advocacy to her legal work. Her life and career are deeply rooted in a passion for equity and inclusion—both in and out of the courtroom.

Her session, part of the Annual Meeting Breakout Series: Beyond Ethics: More than Compliance, will explore gender bias in the legal profession, and provide insights and strategies to help attorneys identify and address bias in professional settings.

We look forward to hearing Hope’s powerful perspective on advancing equity and inclusion in law.

If you would like to attend the 2025 Annual Meeting, it will be held July 31–August 2 at Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, NM.
