Brett is a trial lawyer with substantial experience in business litigation, complex commercial matters, construction and construction defect cases, products liability, and catastrophic personal injury defense. He focuses his commercial practice on energy and construction matters and has represented Fortune 500 companies in state and federal courts nationwide. He believes in the benefits of collegial client relationships and employs a team-oriented approach to any case, and is noted for his attentiveness, diligence, tenacity, and high level of strategic and tactical thinking with his clients.

He began his legal career as a JAG attorney in the U.S. Marine Corps where he tried dozens of federal trials to verdict and supervised a trial team in thousands of matters. Brett earned the Navy Commendation Medal and the AAJ Distinguished Advocate Award for his service in the courtroom. After leaving active duty as a Captain, Brett was an associate with Jones Walker, LLP, where he spent over three years representing clients in major commercial and energy disputes, construction matters, and personal injury defense. Additionally, he worked for an AmLaw 75 firm in Atlanta, Georgia where he handled construction, commercial, and high exposure personal injury cases for a national client base.

Brett joined Serpe Andrews in 2017 and represents the firm’s commercial and healthcare clients in all phases of litigation, from risk mitigation and pre-suit investigations through the appellate process.

Brett is a native Houstonian and loves spending time with his wife and family in the Houston Heights. He is an active member of the Houston Bar Association and volunteers for the John J. Eikenburg Fun Run and Veteran’s Legal Initiative committees. Brett also shares his passion as a trial lawyer with students at the University of Houston Law Center, where he is a mock trial coach.
